Marie C.K. Kelly

As a coach and writer, Marie Kelly has created ways to highlight the beauty and qualities found in the life stories of others. She ranks “respectful listening” as the key element in purposeful writing. Marie feels there is nothing more fulfilling than accompanying someone from an idea or memory to a passionately written story about his or her life experiences. Today, through CMK Educational Services, Inc. and the TAKING HEART® Workshops, that work continues to expand as she inspires others to use writing as a pathway to soul purpose.

Marie has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Barat College in Lake Forest, IL, a Master of Education from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA and a Master of Social Work from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She was invited to participate in the Citizens’ Legislative Seminar at the State House and has spoken on behalf of senior consumers at a legislative committee hearing in Boston, MA.

Marie’s professional affiliations include the Center for Women at Wellesley College, MASS/ALPHA, International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the National Association for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce and Resources for Seniors.

She has been a Member of the Training & Curriculum Committee at Boston University and a Guest Speaker at Harvard University’s Bipolar Research Symposium at Massachusetts General Hospital. Segments of Marie’s TAKING HEART® Consumer Workshop for senior citizens have been spotlighted on Channel 5 WCVB-TV News in Boston, MA.
